How to Prepare Documents for a Remote Online Notarization Session

Before hosting a notarization session, you’ll need to ensure your documents are properly formatted, uploaded, and ready for review and signature.
  1. Save the document you need notarized in PDF format. This ensures all fields and formatting remain intact.
  2. Ensure the document is complete and accurate before uploading. Fill in all non-notarized fields ahead of time.
  3. Leave any signature and notary fields blank—these will be filled during the live session.
  4. If the document includes multiple signers, ensure it clearly indicates who signs where (labels, initials, etc.).
  5. If applicable, add optional annotations or instructions in the file to guide the signer or notary.
  6. Log in to your Notary.io dashboard and go to the Sessions section.
  7. When creating a session, use the Upload Document field to attach your prepared file.
  8. Once uploaded, you’ll be able to preview the document and confirm that it appears correctly.
Tips:
  1. Use a clear and legible scan if uploading a physical document.
  2. Avoid password-protected PDFs.
  3. Check for blank pages or missing content before uploading.
